I have recently - starting approximately three weeks ago - began to lag in multiplayer and single-player games of AoE2 Definitive Edition on Steam. The game will run normally at >60 fps then completely stop for 1 second after which it will start running normally again for random intervals ranging anywhere from 3 seconds to 10 seconds.
As far as I can tell, the limit is still 8 players and 4 teams. I assume the raised caps for map size and population are part of why those haven't been altered. As for trebuchet deforestation, that has been around since the original version of AoE2. Last I checked, it's still in HD and DE. (Was it bugged at one point?) Showing 1 - 1 of 1 comments.
Hello, so my problem is, that when I play with my friend together (2 humans vs 2 AI) the game runs really badly for my friend and later for me too. Here is what is happening: It starts in lobby, when my friend join my lobby he has already fps drops (10-20fps, normally he runs 60fps). After I start the game everything seems to be ok for me nad for friend (friend 60fps, me 144fps). In the moment

10 months ago Updated As soon as you launch Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, click the Multiplayer icon on the left of the home screen. Then choose Host Game, where you can create your own match with the options below: Name your lobby and then set the settings for your lobby: Lobby Type determines if it is unranked or ranked.
Regardless of human or AI opponents, I would rather reconnect with (2) minutes of progress lost and still lose than lose because AoE3 DE crashed and I canât reconnect. There is a massive listing of games that has a reconnect feature for their multiplayer matches. This isnât a ânewâ feature.
